Catapult Project

This was my first-year Northeastern Engineering class project. The goals were to create a ping-pong ball launcher with low budget, minimal production time, and high accuracy.

After two weeks, we presented our projects in class and were given ten attempts to land the highest number of balls in a red solo cup from about 10ft distance.

Results

(Not to flex lol) but my project came 1st in the class. When we presented, I landed the pong ball in a red solo cup 7/10 shots…  the second place team landed 1/10.

The entire project was cut on the first attempt to minimize cost and production time. I was quite proud of the accuracy in my measurements to only need one round on the laser cutter.

See below for a demonstration and the design process.

Demonstration of 3/3 shots.
